Full-time Staff

  • Payroll/Accounting Clerk 08/08
    Reports to: Director of Finance Objective: The person in this position supports the Director and Assistant Director of Finance in various aspects of the Business Office and assists the Director of People Development and Human Resources. Dimensions of the Position: Specific Education / Experience - to provide skilled background for the job tasks. •High school diploma or GED equivalent. •At least 12 credit hours in post high school accounting training. •Minimum 4 years experience in accounting including payroll. •HR background and/or familiarity with wage and labor laws preferred •Some experience in college environment helpful. Special Skills - to apply professional and/or technical skills and other resources to the job tasks. •Computer proficiency, preferably in Windows with Excel and data entry experience. •Experience with variety of payroll systems, such as ADP, Paychex, etc. •Familiarity with accounts receivable and accounts payable. •10-key calculator proficiency. •Excellent organizational skills •Self-starter and able to handle confidential matters. Job Tasks - to determine specific tasks required of the position. Payroll •Primary responsibility for payroll preparation - Data entry, file maintenance, print and distribute checks, etc •Prepare and process staff and student time cards •Prepare and submit semi-monthy, quarterly and yearly tax payments/deposits •Prepare and process W-2s yearly. •Prepare payroll payment vouchers (Retirement contributions, heath premiums, gifts, etc). •Obtain and process additional remuneration for faculty and adjunct faculty each semester. •Distribute and maintain College Workstudy payroll employment list for Financial Aid •Update yearly payroll schedule for student/employee Human Resources •Set-up/maintain employee information on the intranet, CAMS, Fundware •Assist HR director with student employment at the beginning of each academic year. •Follow-up with new employees and student workers regarding necessary paperwork. •Utilizing payroll system, run various HR-related employee census reports as needed throughout the year •Handle employment verifications for former and current employees •Track and maintain vacation/sick benefits for all staff and professional staff. •Track employee’s retirement eligibility. Payables: Serve as backup support to: •Receive and pay invoices and/or other requisitions for payment in such a manner as to maintain or establish good credit. •Run checks every week or as requested in emergencies. •Prepare and keep records of 1099 forms. •Keep paid invoices and check copies on file (both previous year’s payments and the current year). •Run reports at the end of each month and reconcile them with the General Ledger. Receivables: •Assist with record keeping and communications for student accounts. •Prepare and post daily bank deposits (accounts receivable and gifts) •Track students’ housing earnings/deductions benefit during summer months and winter break for billing purposes •Submit and maintain employee list to dining hall each semester for LBC Bucks program Accounting •Perform Journal Entries as needed. •Assist in updating employees salary master files for budgeting purpose General •Assist Director of People Development & HR as needed •Assist in Pre-registration and registration each enrollment period. •Assist in yearly auditing process •Supervise student worker •Cover lunch breaks for front desk Assist in other duties whenever called upon as needed for the good and welfare of the total College ministry.

Full-time Faculty

  • Dean of Graduate Education 03/08
    The Academic Affairs Department of Lancaster Bible College and Graduate School is seeking a Dean of Graduate Education. The Dean provides leadership and administration for the Graduate School. Responsibilities include planning, supervising, executing, coordinating, and evaluating graduate education to ensure significant and continuous progress towards achieving its mission and objectives. The Dean is a member of the Academic Administrative Leadership Team consisting of the Undergraduate and Graduate Deans and the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Qualifications include at least 5 years of successful ministry in a Christian institution of higher education, demonstrated administrative ability, and an earned doctorate. This position is available July 9, 2009
  • Professor - Dept Church & Ministry Leadership/Coord of Master of 08/08
    The Department of Church and Ministry Leadership is seeking a full-time faculty member to develop all aspects of a new undergraduate Church Planting Program. This position will also coordinate two Graduate School programs: the M.A. Min. in Leadership Studies and a Certificate Program in Organizational Leadership. Candidates must have some experience in church planting, strong leadership and administrative skills, the mind of a scholar, the heart of a shepherd and hands dirtied by ministry experience in the local church. Prior experience of working in academic settings would be extremely helpful. Dimensions of the Position: Specific Education / Experience - to provide skilled background for the job tasks. •Graduate degree in the field of Pastoral Ministry or Leadership Studies from an accredited institution, preferably an earned doctorate. •An effective experience base in Church Planting, Leadership Studies and Organizational Leadership. •Ministry experience in Church Planting. •Preferred experience in the higher education context, preferably from a Bible or Christian college. •Extensive teaching, preaching and leadership experience. •Has worked effectively in team ministry. •Demonstrate a record of continuing education to stay abreast of developments in the fields of church planting and leadership studies. •A track record of godly character and integrity in ministry. Special Skills - to apply professional and/or technical skills and other resources to the job tasks. Job Tasks - to determine specific tasks required of the position. Administrative •The ability to teach and academically counsel others effectively. •A demonstrated concern for spiritual growth through application of the Word in counseling application. •A demonstrated administrative ability and willingness to function fully and cooperatively within an institution of Christian higher education. •A willingness to contribute to Christian higher education and the church through writing, research, and development of educational materials. •Enthusiastic support for the college and departmental philosophy of education and team ministry. •A demonstrated ability and desire to mentor and assist students beyond the classroom contexts. •Possesses administrative experiences and gifts in directing programs. •Ability to develop an innovative and comprehensive academic program in a biblical manner to plant churches and build leaders. •The ability to objectively evaluate and aggressively develop the academic program. •The ability to function as a team member with the administration of the College. •The ability and demonstrated desire to grow, develop, and mature as characterized by achievement in both personal and organizational matters. •The ability to implement fairly and firmly the policies and procedures of the College. •Maintain absolute confidentiality in handling all matters within the College. •A demonstrated concern for both personal evangelism, discipleship and mentoring. •The ability to provide 360 degree leadership. Technical Abilities •Supervision/Management skills to carry out job functions and office team members. •Budgeting skills for assisting the chairperson of the department in the preparation and submission of department budgets. •Research ways in which the different areas of the academic program can be enhanced. •Planning skills to develop a department plan as well as participate in the development of the College strategic and long-range plan. •Communication skills necessary for tasks and ability to communicate to various groups. •Analysis skills for analyzing academic trends and developments. •Awareness of the various laws and ethical standards for academia and their relationship to the College. Personal Qualities – The ability to identify personal strengths, weaknesses, skills, and limitations and use this understanding profitably. •The ability to creatively and maturely lead in the academic community of LBC. •The ability to function as a leader and as a team member among the faculty, bringing a collaborative spirit in representing both graduate and undergraduate programs in the Department of Church and Ministry Leadership. •The ability to develop and mature – characterized by a hunger for both personal and institutional growth and achievement. •The ability to be easily approached by students and colleagues, but firm and fair in the exercise of all policies and procedures. •A demonstrated Biblical pattern of leadership characterized by appropriate respect for and use of authority. Undergraduate – Supervisor of the Church Planting Program •Coordinate all aspects of the Church Planting Program. •Lead curriculum revision to create a new educational model to build teams of church planters. •Assess student’s potential for participation as core members in church planting teams. •Serve as academic advisor for students enrolled in the Church Planting Program and be available to proactively shepherd them. •Supervise Church Planting students in their academic Internship and Practicum courses; partner with faculty colleagues in supervising students rostered in other programs who my be members of church planting teams. •Explore the possibility of developing an additional year in the M.A. in Ministry Program in Church Planting. •Build a network of pastors who are or have planted churches and pursue liaison relationships with regional denominational representatives who have aggressive church planting strategies. •Cultivate strong relationships with team members in the Department of Church and Ministry Leadership. •Mentor the church planting teams you create. •Teach a minimum of nine undergraduate credits each semester •Continue to develop professionally through personal study, research and attending professional meetings or conferences. •Attend Department, Professional Division, College-wide faculty meetings and committees as required or requested. •Determine course offerings each semester as necessitated by curricular structure. Graduate – Coordinator of Leadership Studies Programs and Organizational Leadership Certificate •In coordination with the Dean of Graduate Education manage all aspects of the M.A. in Ministry – Leadership Studies programs and Organizational Leadership Certificate. •Teach one graduate level course each semester. •Suggest rotation/sequence of graduate courses to be taught to the M.A. Ministry Director, and be responsible for periodic review of curriculum related to the Leadership Studies programs. •Review applicants and interview prospective students in the Leadership Studies programs. •Facilitate with faculty Independent Studies for Leadership Studies students. •Coordinate advising for Leadership Studies students. •Be actively involved in recruiting students for all Graduate School programs – specifically Leadership Studies prospective students. This would include all aspects of recruitment such as phoning, letter correspondence, informational meetings, literature development, advertising ideas, etc. •Promote the Leadership Studies programs through the normal contexts of Director’s ministry – sharing briefly about the Graduate School on speaking engagements at conferences, church pulpit supply, leadership conventions, etc. •Facilitate spiritual, emotional, and academic shepherding of students through the Graduate School Advisors. •Continue to develop professionally through personal study, research, and attendance at professional meetings. •Seek to publish on a regular basis. This could be in various forms including journal or magazine articles and books. •Assist in the Dean of Graduate Education in general administrative duties for all Graduate School programs.
