The Institute of Biblical Enrichment (IBE) [formerly Evening Institute] began in 1933. Its purpose is to offer non-college-credit courses designed to provide opportunities for enrichment personally, vocationally, culturally, and spiritually. Taught by LBC approved faculty and community resource persons, the courses are open to the local community.
The Institute is part of a national continuing education program which offers non-college-credit education unit credits (CEUs) in recognition of academic progress. One (1) CEU is awarded for each ten hours of class instruction and learning experience.
The LBC Institute classes are conducted in five convenient locations: Main Campus held at 901 Eden Rd, Lancaster; Elizabethtown Campus held at Mt. Calvary Christian School; York Campus held at Church of the Open Door; and Coatesville Campus held at Bible Fellowship Church of Coatesville. NEW this year is the campus in Lancaster City at Bright Side Baptist Church.
The Institute of Biblical Enrichment's curriculum includes some 80 courses covering topics in Bible, doctrine, Christian education, computer word processing, music, women’s ministry, youth ministry, money management, photography, and biblical Lay counseling. New courses are offered each year.
Students of the Institute of Biblical Enrichment may earn certificates based on the number of CEUs earned.
Certificate Programs
The Institute of Biblical Enrichment also has an Extension program, which provides specific courses and training for area churches and retirement homes. These courses are selected by the institution.
Beginning in 1997, the Institute also began an affiliate program with area Bible Institutes for the purpose of granting CEU credit to their students. Currently the Institute of Biblical Enrichment is affiliated with ten institutes in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
*Altogether, approximately 1,000 students receive CEU credit each year through our program.
